MTS’ security program is directed towards creating a safe environment and is designed to protect our clients’ physical and personal resources against theft, damage or injury, as well as preserving the peace. 

9a.jpg (20086 bytes)Various procedures are in place to ensure our customers are given an effective security service. These are:

  • Proper selection and recruitment of security officers – between 75-80% of our officers are precepted (have the power to arrest), 65% are Firearm users.
  • In-house and external security training.
  • Adopting the approach of persuasion and education as opposed to confrontation and force.
  • Adopting a public and human relations approach to visitors, staff and other users at all facilities.

Our Security programme comprises the following elements: 
Gate Duty, Patrol Duty, Surveillance and Electronic Monitoring and Sentry Duty. 

Sentry personnel functions can be categorized into the following core areas:

  1. Gate/Sentry Duty and Entrance Control

  3. Perimeter Monitoring
  4. Traffic Control
  5. Random Spot Checks
  6. Recording of Security incidents
  7. Investigations of Security Incidents
  8. Key and Access Control
  9. Fire Protection and Prevention including Evacuation and Emergency Planning
  10. Liaison with Protective Services

COMMUNICATIONS
MTS has a Communications Network system where officers are equipped with a two-way radio (walkie talkie) for internal communication.  External communication is maintained with the protective agencies (e.g. Fire, Police) especially in the event of emergencies.   Each of our customers’ facilities are monitored through MTS’ Roving Supervision System.  The Roving Supervisor makes random mobile visits to all locations and carries out inspections to ensure that:

  1. premises are properly secured
  2. all visible components are intact
  3. there are no unauthorized persons on the premises
  4. the officer is alert at all times
  5. appropriate actions are taken in any illegal/irregular activities or potentially dangerous/hazardous situations on or in the immediate environs of the premises.
